Pokémon Type Calculator
Pick a Pokémon's type, or both of its types, to see what it's weak to, what it resists and what can't touch it. Or switch modes to check what your move is good against.
Start with how type damage works. It only takes a few minutes.
How Two Types Work Together
When a Pokémon has two types, the game checks a move against each type and multiplies the results. That's why dual types can end up with huge weaknesses, or cancel a weakness out completely.
Charizard is a Fire/Flying Pokémon. Rock moves are super effective against both Fire and Flying, so Charizard takes 4× damage from them. But Flying types are immune to Ground, so Ground moves do nothing to it, even though Fire is normally weak to Ground.
Swampert is Water/Ground. Grass is super effective against both, which makes it a 4× weakness. On the plus side, Ground cancels out Water's usual Electric weakness, so Grass ends up being Swampert's only weakness.
Double damage. Great for hitting a weakness!
Half damage. The target resists this type.
No damage at all. The target is immune.
Regular damage. Most matchups land here.
The Two Modes
My Pokémon's weaknesses looks at a Pokémon being hit: what hurts it, what it resists and what it's immune to. What my move hits hard looks at a move you're using, and shows which types it does extra damage to and which ones shrug it off.
The page address updates as you pick types, so you can copy it from your browser and share a result with a friend.
Common Questions
Does the order of the two types matter?
No. Fire/Flying and Flying/Fire take exactly the same damage from everything.
Can I see every matchup at once?
Yes. The full type chart shows all 324 matchups on a single grid.
